Honey for Your Wound Healing
Honey for Your Wound Healing
May 15
I think many people have known that honey have a powerfull benefits for human health, and honey can bring your health quality higher than before you consume the honey products. But in this article I want to tell you about honey that can be used for healing your wounds, even faster than any medicine.
All honey has some level of the antibacterial chemical hydrogen peroxide, which is produced by enzymes in the honey. These enzymes are easily destroyed by exposure to heat and light and also by contact with body fluids. It is now understood that some rare honeys have an antibacterial action that is separate to the peroxide effect, resulting in a much more persistent and stable antibacterial action. Such valuable honeys are resistant to losing their antibacterial activity when used in wound treatment and even have strong activity when heavily diluted by body fluids in a wound dressing. Furthermore, such honeys are now known to have a synergistic antibacterial effect with the hydrogen peroxide activity, producing a very powerful weapon against bacterial conditions.
Since 1991 it has been recognised that not all honey is effective in its non-peroxide anti-bacterial action and in its promotion of healing – in fact the variability between different batches of honey can be as much as 100-fold. In 1996 an organisation called TradeNZ, in conjunction with the Honey Research Unit, set about to establish a standard for the classification of antibacterial honey activity.
Manuka Honey creates a moist healing environment that allows for the regeneration of new skin growth across a healing wound, flush with the surface of the skin. This prevents scarring and deformity of the skin. If a dry scab forms on a wound, the skin cells can only grow across the wound, deep down where it is moist. However, Manuka Honey causes scabs and dead skin cells to lift off the surface of the wound, leaving a clean and healthy wound bed in which regrowth of tissue can occur.Manuka Honey also has an anti-inflammatory action which reduces the swelling around a wound. This improves circulation and hastens the healing process. Its anti-inflammatory properties also reduce the pain generated by the wound. Manuka Honey also reduces the amount of fluid exuding from the wound. Another factor is that its high sugar content draws lymph out of a wound which lifts dirt out of the wound bed.
Scientists have reason to believe that Manuka Honey even prevents the odor that is commonly associated with serious wounds and skin ulcers by clearing bacterial infection, and more immediately, by providing sugar to any bacteria present. In this environment, lactic acid is produced instead of the smelly byproducts of the degradation of protein.
Hopefully that from now you can get the alternative treatment for your wound healing types, and you don’t need to scared because this things has passed many test and nothing bad effects appear.

Both the holy Qur’an and Hadith refer to honey as a healer of disease.
‘And thy Lord taught the bee to build its cells in hills, on trees and in (men’s) habitations….. there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for mankind. Verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought’.
(Translation of Quran 16:68-69)
In addition, the Prophet (PBUH) said:
‘Honey is a remedy for every illness and the Qur’an is a remedy for all illness of the mind, therefore I recommend to you both remedies, the Qur’an and honey.’
(Bukhari)
The reader may be surprised to learn that the above quotation from the Qur’an is mentioned in a well known encyclopedia on honey (reference 3).
Every drop of honey holds the spark of life. The honey, specifically Sidr honey has been reported to be good for liver problems, stomach ulcers, respirotry infections, diseases resulting from malnutrition, digestive problems, constipation, eye diseases, infected wounds and burns, surgical wonds (incl. caesarian), promote speedy recovery after childbirth, facilitates menstruation, (with various herbs) it can be used against epilepsy, srengthened the immune systems, to promote general health and vitality.
Natural Arphrodisiac – Mixing Sidr honey with carrot seeds makes it an aphrodisiac. A blend of the honey with certain combination of nuts, ginseng and herbs are claimed to be better than Viagra, with no side effects.
Antioxidant – Some honeys are found to have as much as 75-150 mg ascorbic acid per 100g, while others have less than 5mg per 100g. Antioxidants are important in counteracting the damage caused to the body by ree radicals whic play a role in the aging process and in triggering diseases such as arterial disease and cancer. Research has found that darker honeys have higher antioxidant properties.
Antibacterial – Medical science is rediscovering the effctiveness of honey in the use of alternative therapies in areas where the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria (the”superbugs”) spreads. Honeys may differ in the potency of its antibacterial activity thus affecting its healing abilities. Some honeys are no more antibacterial than sugar, while others can be diluted more than 100-fold and still halt the growth of bacteria.
